Shutters View is a gorgeous expounding of evocation and melancholy, and Soft Pastels' first full-length in just over five years. It opens and closes on instrumentals - "They Run" dark and somber, "Knock on the Door" a lush expanse of glitchy, metallic synth that seems to gather up everything in the nine tracks between them. The closer ends with four literal knocks. Mixed by Matt Messore of Cathedral Bells.
